Chris’s goal is to exceed the desired results in a way that creates success for TEMPOE, his team, and their customers. His mission is to help others achieve their highest potential. Chris has held various sales and senior management positions. He began his Professional journey in consumer leasing over 20 years ago and has been in the credit-challenged consumer space ever since.
Phil Layher is TEMPOE’s executive vice president of business development. Layher works to create new business relationships with large retailers. He is also responsible for seeking additional partnership opportunities. Phil’s strong retailer relationships, combined with his knowledge of second- and third-tier financing solutions fits perfectly with TEMPOE's innovation and growth strategies. Layher loves TEMPOE because the company is “way ahead of the game,” especially when it comes to technology and marketing prowess. He says that the TEMPOE team is among the most personable and professional in the industry. Layher earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Montana State University. He currently resides in Austin, Texas, with his wife. Layher has four grown children.
Brian is honored to manage the Client Management organization that assists consumers and retailers bridge the divide that is created by credit challenges. His role is to ensure that TEMPOE’s Client Relationships are managed above and beyond expectation. Prior to joining TEMPOE he has worked for Industry Leaders within the FINTECH industry such as Vantiv and UniRush LLC(RushCard) for more than 10 years. Throughout his career, responsibilities have included Relationship/Vendor Management, Product Management and Data Analytics. He holds a BS Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Mt. Saint Joseph University. He resides in Cincinnati with his wife and their two little girls.
Kamela is a driven and focused marketing professional with more than 20 years of experience in B-to-B and B-to-C marketing communications within financial services, accounting, consulting, and retail. She is results oriented and has extensive product, project and people process management background with an emphasis on product development, market branding and product positioning. Her passion lies in creative problem solving, process efficiencies and cross-functional team building. She earned a degree in broadcast journalism from the Defense Information School of Broadcast and Print Journalism. Kamela and her family reside on Cincinnati’s westside.
Holding a Masters in Labor and Employee Relations and a BS in Psychology, Sarah brings over 15 years of Human Resource leadership to the TEMPOE organization. She has spent the majority of her career in Fortune 500 organizations leading global HR teams. Sarah currently leads the Human Resource function for TEMPOE with responsibilities including implementing human resource strategies that enables TEMPOE to recruit, train, and retain a high performing and motivated workforce. With a proven track record of results, leading a successful team, and implementing change, Sarah solves complex problems.
With over 10 years’ experience in financial services, Laura Middendorf is the Vice President of Finance at TEMPOE. She is responsible for overseeing accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, tax and capital/debt structure.
Laura was drawn to TEMPOE for its tremendous opportunity to serve clients and customers in underserved markets. She is excited to bring her experience in managing $500M+ portfolios, driving improvement through ROI based decisioning and analytics, and negotiating $1B+ in capital fundraising.
Laura is a CPA and holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati.
As one of the original employees of TEMPOE, Donna brings more than 12 years of experience to her role as chief administrative officer. She oversees business operations, including B2B and B2C servicing, recovery services, merchant enrollment, consumer account research, and more. Before joining TEMPOE, Donna served as operations manager at a financial services company, where her focus on the customer, operational efficiency, underwriting, and execution led to significant growth, resulting in new product development and service offerings. She also spent two years as a manager at Advance America. Donna resides in Hooksett, New Hampshire, with her husband and extended family, including her first grandchild.
